Hi there,

Happy Independence Day! Holidays are often the most difficult times to stay on-track with healthy diet and moderation, and celebrations like the 4th of July can be particularly challenging! Eating loads of junk food and drinking to excess can be enjoyable in the moment but will leave you feeling miserable the next day and possibly for several days afterwards. This month's newsletter article suggests a GREAT summer cookout menu that is both healthy and yummy. And don't worry! If you overindulge during your festivities this week, the AOMA Clinics are open every day but Sunday -- we'd be more than happy to help you recover!

Summer Cookout at Tara's House, A TCM Perspective

It’s that time of year when family and friends come together to celebrate with a good, old fashioned cookout. The problem is these emotionally nurturing gatherings can often leave one feeling overheated, bloated, and requiring an extra day of recovery. Luckily, there are simple modifications to classics you can use to naturally balance your menu and your belly.

Meditation and the Five Senses: How to Enhance Your Meditation Practice

Meditation is a mind-body practice that allows one to calm their mind from the fast pace and stresses of life. Soothing our five senses can help us more easily enter a meditative state. AOMA staff have compiled five items that will help aid in each sensory aspect of your meditation practice.

Celebrating AOMA's 25th Anniversary

A Message from Dr. Mary Faria, CEO & Acting President

It has been such an honor to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Edmond and the fabulous AOMA team! What a wonderful and amazing journey and accomplishment; 25 years of providing and training practitioners at the Masters and Doctorate level to provide some of the best integrative care in the country! I have been most impressed with the strong commitment to AOMA’s mission and vision and the high quality of the faculty at AOMA. Many of the faculty members trained at some of the best Medical Schools and Universities in China. Many faculty recognized nationally and internationally.

Over the last 25 years AOMA has been building a strong foundation to ensure our community can receive holistic healthcare. Care for mind, body and spirit. I know AOMA will continue to make great contributions and continue to be strongly committed to its mission to transform lives and communities through education, patient care, leadership, and research in Chinese and other integrative medicines.

Indeed, very exciting times for AOMA and for the community we serve!
